An Impassive Truth (Friends Shall Die)

Slender beams of light enter
this darkened hall as I kneel,
always silent, always hopeful,
frozen here,
waiting.

Haloed forms wrought in panes of glass loom as
dust dances in the air,
forming an image in my mind,
reaving my secret soul.

A reflection on a lover’s face.

I raise my head, now embracing
this impassive truth.
